Jellyfin

Your movies and shows away from home, on your domain: in the browser, on the TV and on your phone.

Publish it

Before: the server installed («Install the server») and the agent's machine joined («Connect your machines»). With --preset, add sets this app's port, options and checks.

On the agent's machine

lnkstart add cine=192.168.1.40 --preset jellyfin
sudo lnkstart install

8096 is Jellyfin's HTTP port. In the TV and phone apps, the server address is https://cine.tunnels.midominio.com.

Let it see the real IP

In the Dashboard, under Networking, add the agent machine's IP to the known proxies (127.0.0.1 if it is the same computer). Jellyfin then reads X-Forwarded-For and logs each visitor's IP, not the agent's.

Good to know

  • Speed is set by your home connection's upload: a 4K movie without transcoding needs much more than 1080p. If it stutters, lower the quality in the app.
  • The WebSocket Jellyfin uses works with no setup.
  • Better without --password: TV apps cannot fill in LnkStart's form. Jellyfin already asks for its own user.
